About TimeSpaceMatter
TimeSpaceMatter is the publishing project of Stefan Meeuws that went live in March 2019. At first, it was a collaborative project with guest contributions, but now it has become the personal English-language blog of Stefan Meeuws. The focus remains the same: telling stories about the current time and space and the things that matter: our culture, our environment and how tech is influencing it.
At TimeSpaceMatter we look at culture, society and the world around us to inspire everyone to become more sustainable in the way we live. Whether that’s reducing environmental impact, having more sustainable friendships, jobs or relationships. We share articles, essays, recommendations, photos, videos and podcasts which take their own time and will remain worth reading in a different time & space. Get in touch if you want to know more.
TimeSpaceMatter uses no social media cookies, we only use a self-hosted analytics package to understand our visitors better and improve the website. Get in touch if you want more information on this.

About Stefan
Stefan Meeuws (MA) is Dutch. He is a product owner, digital strategy advisor, a community manager, a writer and a lover of all things tech and culture.
Stefan was born, way too early, in 1986. After learning to think for himself, he got a MA degree at University and is now working as a Product Owner, having previously worked as the digital guy at a content marketing agency in The Netherlands. He was also an editor at various computer and tech magazines.
Stefan likes to write for both online and offline publications. Another thing Stefan likes is playing the guitar and writing songs to play on this guitar. But, back to the writing: Stefan writes in Dutch and English. In fact, he does both to make a living. He believes that there’s no such thing as writing too much, although he also believes that less is more.
Besides this little blurb, Stefan has written articles for several media outlets, all of them real! There’s a list below that may or may not impress you. These days he’s more into strategic documents outlining the possibilities of digital media for companies.
On a not so unrelated note, he is the webmaster of a Turin Brakes fansite since 2003. He likes their music and will not stop talking about them until you say you like it too. Better listen to it then.

Some things about Stefan
So here are some things you may or may not know yet about Stefan:
- He’s from The Netherlands and started his first blog in Dutch in 2005. It is still going strong (they say) at ditisstefan.nl.
- He lives in Nijmegen with his girlfriend and two cats (Nisse and Pangar Bun).
- Stefan once got a Dutch national tv channel to broadcast the same film (127 Hours) twice in 48 hours because they removed a key scene and he complained about it with an open letter on his blog. Read the full story here.
- Stefan is a big fan of the London-based acoustic duo Turin Brakes. He started a fansite about them in 2003 and it is still online these days and updated almost every day! Well. Or almost every week. Something like that.
- Stefan plays the guitar and the ukulele. He also plays other instruments but not as succesfully.
- His biggest unrealistic dream is to make a socially-engaged action flick about a computer nerd who’s data and girlfriend (in that order) are stolen. Stefan will play the bad guy. There is a script for the film and plans for two sequels. We still need funding.
- Stefan became best friends with his rabbit Ko (last name Nijn) when he got Ko for his 11th birthday. Ko was 10 years old when he died of natural causes, having lived a peaceful life in the Dutch countryside. Stefan likes to think Ko was one happy bunny and has yet to see proof that says otherwise.
- Stefan does watch football occasionally. His favourite team is Ajax (Amsterdam) and he is happy they won the Eredivisie in 2011, 2012, 2013 AND 2014. He hopes that Arsenal will at some point achieve the same feat in the Premier League. He’s worried that it might be a while before that happens.
- He likes dancing but his style has been criticized in the past by more conventional dancers.
- He once accidentally stole a cauliflower from a supermarket. Sorry!
- He works at the local University now, but also worked at a creative agency and a publisher that published magazines. In print! yes! Even though he’s now a product owner of a scrum team. That is SO weird. It’s like he knows everything, and also nothing.
- He’s on Team ‘Cold’
- But he likes to work with the windows open. Or outside. Or just be outside and not work at all.
- Phil Collins once promised him to play a concert in his garden. But he might have been joking. Or maybe Stefan was out when he showed up.
- He gives and gives and gives… And you? What do you do??? You come to his house, you eat his food, you insult his dancing….
- He loves London, but doesn’t live there… yet?
